Wedding dragons

Aaand more sculptures! I just finished these Thanksgiving morning, as my wedding gift to a special couple I know and love. They got married in October, and this was the first time I saw them both together since their wedding, so I knew I wanted to finish these by Thanksgiving to give it to them. I just barely got it done in time, and spent the last three days before Thanksgiving working on these. *Phew!*

So then, a lot of time and effort and love went into these guys! They're all hand made by me, no molds, casts, or patterns of any sort used. I used a fine tip needle with a small ball on the other end to help with the sculpting (very handy, those needles!), and a glass jar to flatten clay super thin for the wing membranes. There's a wire and foil armature inside these guys, and I painted them with acrylics, then used a water-based polyurethane gloss for the eyes and a few other details (makes it shiny and protects the paint a little).

Not sure if anyone would be interested in something like this, but if you are, let me know! I will make wedding dragons or other dragons like this as custom orders.
For wedding dragon like this, at a similar size and interacting with one another, the price would be in the range of $225-300, depending on the complexity of the pose (standing and holding hands, heart tails, ect) and the amount of details. I'd price these two at $250.
