Gaea's Dragon

Equipment: A mechanical pencil with .5mm pencil lead in HB to sketch an outline, and a white plastic eraser to erase it before painting. The paint is Acrylics. The paper is from a Watercolor paint pad (for kids) with a size of 9x11’’.

Number four in the dragon portraits! I finished him/her about a week or so ago; it was intended to be a female dragon, but now I’m not so sure. In case anyone thinks this dragon is familiar, I did model its pose and some of its features after Firnen from the front cover of the final Eragon book Inheritance, since that cover was very beautifully done.

This dragon is more or less a dragon of the planet’s life, living in ancient forests and guarding the ruins that lie deep within from those who may seek to utilize them. More of a neutral dragon than anything, it will still always side with those that are ‘good’ if taking a side is necessary.
