Comm: Mermaid Portrait

My latest portrait commission; I was asked to do a portrait of this young woman as a mermaid for her birthday, since she loves mermaids quite a lot. This is the first time I’ve done a portrait for someone I don’t know, so it makes me a bit anxious.
I’ve found out that she absolutely loved this picture, and apparently it was a big hit at her birthday party! Success! I’m so, so happy…!
I think my favorite part of this picture is the water; I feel like I was able to make it look realistic, look like it was actually water. The scales were kind of fun too, though.

The time for this picture was definitely over 15 hours.
